Nothing so clean, so accurate, so pure… has ever found its
way from the KICKER® Acoustics Laboratories to an automobile, until
now.
QS-Series Matched Component Systems reach an entirely new level of
optimal audio, using the latest, most innovative parts and cutting-edge
processes to give the listener the absolute closest thing to live
sound. It simply provides the clearest music that ears will ever
experience.
The sum of the QS-Series’ parts is extraordinary. Midrange
speaker sizes determine the difference between the QS65.2 System
(6.5-inch) and the QS60.2 System (true 6-inch that fits 5.25-inch
location as well), but excellence remains throughout. These mids reach
their uncanny range with a first from KICKER – the
Tri-Tech™ cone, a straight efficient cone consisting of a woven
carbon-poly facing, a highly-advanced, super-rigid Rohacell® foam
core, and another carbon-poly backing all sandwiched together for
utmost internal damping and unparalleled sound.
The midrange motor structure is like no other. The voice coil is
made of lightweight copper-clad, aluminum ribbon wire densely wound for
maximum power handling and extreme efficiency. It’s wrapped
around a T-cut pole piece and copper shorting ring that provides smooth
frequency response and reduces harmonic distortion. The motor is housed
in a solid cast-aluminum basket that combines a unique groove-locking
system and variably-thick surround to hold the Tri-Tech cone in place.
Loud, clear 30-millimeter tweeters with DuPont® Tetoron®
domes recreate luxurious highs from a flush, angled, or coaxial mount,
the latter allowing the installer to remove aluminum phase plugs from
the midrange speakers’ centers and screw in special adapters and
tweeters.
Worthy of display in a custom install, the amazing QS crossovers
provides utmost flexibility. The 2-way, bi-ampable passive crossovers
covered in Plexiglas feature 24dB/octave highpass and 12dB/octave
lowpass routing centered at 2.8kHz. The additional gear and
installation work required for bi-amping result in superior sound
quality and a more efficient usage of amp power. Reliable tweeter
output-level jumpers (0dB, +3dB, +6dB) dictate tweeter volume.
