The Hype
Ultimate reliability and tremendous audio clarity provide the makeup for RS-Series Matched Component Systems.
These outstanding midrange/tweeter/crossover combos use most all of
the technologies of supreme QS-Series Systems, giving music lovers yet
another source for a complete range of the smoothest, richest
frequencies available. The RS-Series offers a more affordable option
for those who seek genuine KICKER high-end performance from their
mobile-audio system.
The RS65.2 (featuring a 6.5-inch midrange woofer) and RS60.2 (a true
6-inch midrange that also fits 5.25-inch location) let their primary
sound flow through speakers that use a polyimide former and copper-clad
aluminum wire to help decrease hot temperatures within the motor.
Cast-aluminum baskets with nickel-plated, spring-loaded terminals
provide additional protection and result in a more durable driver and
higher power handling.
Each system’s one-inch, high-end tweeter pair with advanced
DuPont® Tetoron® elliptical domes can be installed in a flush,
angled, surface, or coaxial mount, the latter allowing the installer to
remove aluminum phase plugs from the midrange speakers’ centers
and screw in special adapters and tweeters. RS-Series tweeters exude a
wider dispersion pattern for greatly increased detail in high
frequencies.
Redesigned crossovers make RS Component Systems more flexible and
reliable than ever, and they look great in a custom install.
Configuration choice rests with the listener – the new 2-way
bi-ampable passive crossovers have 18 dB/ octave highpass and 12 dB/
octave lowpass filters at 3.5kHz to optimize output. A tweeter
output-level switch (0dB, +3dB, +6dB) determines tweeter volume, while
the crossover itself provides incandescent tweeter protection.
